I'm trying to create a character sheet.   I have searched for a while here and copied and tore apart every pak I have on my system. I need some serious help getting this character sheet done (playtest for the system is going live in August). Is there anyone out there that can give me some help? PM me here or email me at "info [at] dolmen-studios [dot] com"

Which ruleset are you using and are you using a full or lite license?
If you have a full license, when you launch the application there should be an button that says "Manage Characters". Click on that then click the ruleset that you want, it should be in the left box in the menu. After you select the right ruleset, click on "Start" at the bottom right. This should load up a generic table top section.
In the top right of the table, there should be a selection of icon. Click on the one that looks like three people grouped together. (This is typical of 3.5/d20). This will bring up a box that says, Character Selection, "Create New Character". Click on "Create New Character" and it should bring you up a new character sheet.
I hope that helps.

Edit: Unless you are wanting to create a character sheet for a new ruleset, then all that information I just posted is meaningless. :)

Thanks for the info cpbs. But, you're right, I'm trying to make a character sheet for a new ruleset. If you know how to do that, I'd be much obliged.

Well I am not a total wiz at creating new character sheets for a new ruleset. But to start off with is to use a generic ruleset, like the Base Ruleset.
https://oberoten.dyndns.org/fgwiki/index.php/Base_Ruleset
One you download that, it should contain a installer that will load the files into your app folder.
You can locate that file by going to your desktop:
[user name]/AppData/Roaming/Fantasy Grounds II/rulesets/Base Ruleset/
From there there are xml files that contain character sheet information and as well as a folder with lua script information as well.
Just copy that folder and rename it to a different ruleset you are wanting to make. Then just toy with the code to make the character sheet the way you want it.
I hope that helps.

Give this a try: Anatomy of a Ruleset (https://wiki.witheredlands.co.uk/anatomy.ashx)
While not overly complex, it does get the basics of a character sheet. I've followed along and kind of got my own set up. I was tinkering with more advanced stuff that didn't quite work. Otherwise, nicely done.

Thanks guys! This is pretty much the kind of help I needed. The ruleset and tutorial are both great finds and a good place for me to start. I'll post more once I get the ruleset done.
