I've noticed that if I have a target, and instead of rolling the dice or hitting a hotkey, I double click on the entry, it rolls and compares and even applies damage automatically.

Is this by design?
Is there a way to make it happen on Hotkey, Mouse Drag'n'Release rolls?

Yes, this is by design. From what I understand, there isn't currently a way to have it do it through hotkeys or regular mouse drag and throw rolls. If I remember correctly though, that's something that's on the wishlist for a future release.

If you drag a roll and drop on a target in the CT or on the map (token linked to CT), then the dragged roll will be applied to that target.

The ability to drag roll and apply to current targets or use hot keys with targeting is on the wish list.
