View Full Version : Creating Categories for d20 Monsters?

I've looked the boards over for a while but I couldn't really find the answer I was looking for. The title basically is asking what I am looking for and if there is away to do it. What I want to do is create a monster manual module but be able to put most of the monsters in categories and sub-categories for better organization.

Example:

Tier 1
- - Tier 2
- - - - Tier 3

Once Tier 1 is clicked, Tier 2 opens in a new window, refining everything in to subcategories of Tier 1 , when Tier 2 is clicked, Tier 3 opens in a new window, showing the a final list monsters.

Is there away for this option in the d20 ruleset? I think someone said it was possible in CoC, but I don't remember where I saw that.

Thanks,

Tenian did some work on nested levels for the Library (https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8895), but it required modifying the ruleset code.

So without changing the ruleset, which if done will not auto-update if there are new updates, this is not possible?

But for the most part Tenian did what I was looking for, but was hoping it was just an over all aspect to most/all rulesets out there.

If not, I'll just have to create individual modules for my purposes.

You might be able to implement this as an extension, which would allow you to stay up to date with the most recent ruleset versions. It would then work for any module built to take advantage of the feature (pre-existing modules wouldn't be able to do this, in all likelihood).
