I own most all of the 4e rulebooks and several of the PDFs. Is there a database file I could trade with someone?

Also are there any 'sample', 'test' or 'free' 4e campaign or modules available?

I am not aware of anyone who has made any sort of sample adventure module for 4E. It should be legally possible to do so, assuming it included entirely new NPCs, Maps, Magic items, story objects etc.

However if you are looking to reference WOTC IP, the best way to do so is by building reference modules with the parser. If you have a DDI subscription it's not a terribly painful process.

See this thread for some details.

Creating all new monsters, etc seems to be the approach these guys took: https://www.rpgnow.com/index.php?cPath=4539

Note: I don't have this so I not exactly sure what they did but if you used all NPC's and new monsters you *should* be OK legally - but I'm not a lawyer... :p

There is a digital 4e module for FG2 made by the people over at EN World RPG Forums.

They made customer monsters and classes. Some of the mechanics are quite nice, old things like "counterspell" from 3.5e make a return.

It's called "War of the Burning Sky"

It's not free, however. Each modules requires you own the PDF. Still, I think it's a fine investment.

And, actually, the FG2 conversion is made by me... I mention it because I consider myself more affiliated with these forums than the EnWorld ones. I really enjoyed the 4e Burning Sky campaign and since I had to convert them to FG2 anyway I asked them if I could make the official FG2 modules. Consider it a byproduct of THIS forum as much as THAT one, in other words -- without the help of many people here it wouldn't have been possible.

But, yes, they use their own monsters and such.
