View Full Version : Local Char F12 Disable

After the fourth time I deleted all my local characters by pressing the f12 key while reaching for the backspace...

Unfortunately when you press the F12 they're gone - no 'do you want to do this', no protection, they just get dumped.

An awkward but simple work around is to disable the F12 if you expect to do some character creation.

I can suggest:

Keytweak

You have to reboot to modify the registry entry that maps the keyboard but it seems to work for me. Your mileage may vary but I thought I'd offer something you can do about it now until there is a fix or something.

In local mode, it looks like all the function keys force a database reload, and open the console window. I have no idea why this was in the code, but I assume it was some older debugging code that got left in.

I'll put it on the list for the next patch.
