I've always been a fan of 0One. I own a great deal of their stuff. The colorprints are great for online games and I'm also a big fan of their Blue Prints and Dungeon Under the Mountain series.

Well this is kind of a testing of the water for 0one Games to see how well their products sell when customized for Fantasy Grounds. Hopefully we will be able to show them that it is worth the additional effort to make the module packs. Barring that, people could still just download their regular PDFs and make their own module packs. For just $.50 more, though, you get a lot of extra work pre-done for you.

Would really help if I could see some pictures of what the maps looked liked (in the store I mean).

I am interested though.

Their website (https://0onegames.com) has a preview of one of the map sets for free.

There is nothing that states the maps are for FGII when you go to the site? how are the maps scaled? I would like to find maps for Rolemaster not D&D. One of the bigger issues I have is that trying to put grids to gether for FGII isn't intuitive for this newbie GM and I don't know how to correlate pixel size to actual scale for maps?? I love FGII, but documentation is very sparse and the tutorials skip alot.

Their site is for their standard maps. The FGII-specific ones are available from the shop here. You can also click on the map images above to go to the FGII shop entry.

I am desperately short of maps to run my campaign and can't figure out how to place the grids effectively.

What problems are you having? Are you trying to put the FG grid over an existing grid on an image?

Each map comes in a variety of options for low or medium resolution, where one square equals 32, 50 or 75 pixels per square. The outdoor maps don't always have any squares to use for reference, but on an indoor map, you can overlay the FG grid over a regular floor tile and it will sync up with all other squares on the map.

I've attached a sample for the first floor of the burning tower. I clicked on the 32-pixel version of the player map, dragged a 32 pixel wide box and then released it.

Also, all the place holders for each area on the gamemaster map have already been included in the module.

0one Games was going to wait and see how well these current map packs sold before committing to converting the remaining maps in their inventory (around 190 or so I believe.)

Just out of interest... why is that Secret Door symbol back to front?

Good question. Maybe that is to answer the question my players always seem to ask me... "do the doors swing in or out?" :D

Better yet, if it's the player version, why is there any secret door?

Bought the first one. That was my first thought.

SmiteWorks did not directly create these conversions, we merely provided guidelines that 0one Games used to create their maps. We did mention that they would want to create both a DM and a player viewable map and hide the items that they did not want the players to see. I believe they did that for the most part, but looking at that specific map I am not sure it lent itself to easily being able to hide the fact that there was another room off to the side - or in that case a small hallway that led to a room. Still, it would probably been best to replace that with a straight line even though most players would very quickly discern that the wall was very thin at the one area as opposed to the other surrounding walls.

I would recommend posting something up to the 0one Game's forum or sending them a support email for this item.

I'm a big fan of 0One but one of the flaws of their maps is that secret doors and normal doors are on the same switch so to cut off secret doors on a lot of their maps you have to cut off all doors. :(

Definitely sounds like something to recommend that they fix to me!

Oh, Spyke, all of 0Ones in wall secret doors use the mirrored S. :) Interestingly their Secret Trapdoor symbol use a normal S.

Griogre, what did you mean by this? Are these maps layered images or something? That would be cool...

Griogre

Davian Goliath, to clear up any misunderstandings FG does not have multiple layers for images other than the mask. It is a wish list request that the images would have multiple layers, however.

What I was referring to in the above quote was the 0One original PDFs which *do* have multiple layers. Unfortunately, the secret doors are on the same layer in those original PDFs as either normal doors or furniture neither which is real feasible to cut off with out losing a lot of the map's detail. Because of this the maps sent to Doug from 0One are probably *going* to show secret doors even on the player map. This is only a guess on my part as I don't have every 0One map, though I do own 25 of them with the majority of them being from their Blueprint and Dungeon Under the Mountain product lines.

Obviously this not optimal for VTTs, but the good price and content of the maps more than compensate IMHO.

Sorry I wasn't clear...yes, I am aware of this. I was referring to PDF layers.

This is actually OK news for me as I would just bring the pdf into PS and create new layers by hand.

Thanks, you answered the question!

The problem is that I realized that you need to rescale maps which is something I am not capable of doing. New software needed etc. I can scan a map in that I want to use but it won't work for the scale of grid that i need for the tokens.

There is a video by Xorn on how to scale the maps to certain dimensions that works with most maps. In the case of a lot of these maps, that approach didn't work and he had to adjust the resolution of the images until they matched the set size.

Also, you can just scan maps in yourself at the correct resolution. I have used 50 dpi and then I find I do not need to rescale the images at all.

Ok maybe I am just not too bright but I can't figure out how to get these things to work. I purchased and installed the Riverside Inn maps. When I open FG II I can't get the maps to show up. I open the modules section and tell it to load but then nothing shows up anywhere else? What am I missing here?
