New conversions of Fiery Dragon's 4E counter collections for FG are available in the store. These token packs showcase our new module-based token installation to allow you to easily activate or deactivate them as needed. While these packs are targeted towards 4th Edition gaming, they have been made compatible with all rulesets.

Additional time was spent fully optimizing this token images to be as small as possible to speed up game play without losing any quality of view. Tokens are available in four different base sizes, where a medium creature is 32x32, 50x50, 75x75 or 100x100. Tiny and Small creatures are slightly smaller than medium and large, huge, gargantuan and colossal creatures scale appropriately.

Is there anywhere to see what the tokens look like before buying? I hit the fierydragon site and couldn't find Maze Under Stormpeak.

Thanks, JPG! Glad I checked - those are very cool, but I prefer the top-down tokens for my games.

Does anyone know of a supplier of top down tokens. I have the Devin Free token packs which are great!

However there are a lot of beasties in the manuals with no token.

Anyone know of a supplier still producing tokens?

I believe Devin is still producing tokens and from a recent post of his over at the FUM forum intends to release some commercial packs at some point this year.

Head over to the FUM Forums (https://www.fouruglymonsters.com/community/forum) and send him a note with what your after, I believe he is also still taking private commissions.

Fiery Dragon is still producing tokens. I have bought every 4e pack that they have and converted them over to FG using Image Magick's mogrify command line tool (https://www.imagemagick.org/www/mogrify.html) using the following command line in a bat file:

mogrify -format png -fuzz 3%% -transparent white -resize 25%% *.jpg

I renamed the files to what they needed to be for Tenian's Parser. I have tokens for every entry in MM1 and all of the Heroics in MM2. It was quite a bit of work, but it's done now and I don't have to worry about it anymore.

Sorry about that, I didn't realize the key phrase in your post being "Top Down". The info in my post is still good for others however.

Thanks Brenn,

Converting the Fiery Token packs yourself is definitely doable. In this case, we did something very similar, organized them in folder structures within mod files that can be turned on and off and performed some additional file compression from within Photoshop. We typically see an additional reduction in file size of about 40% off of the filesize from ImageMagick. That means your tokens should load faster for your connected users. The real key is that all this additional work was done in a professional and consistent manner by us for what amounts to $0.50 more on top of the downloaded PDF's price.

This is only on the newer Fiery Dragon packs available on our store. The older ones were done in a different method. The new ones come in a single installation that you run.

We never want to discourage people or prevent them from building their own stuff. We just want to save them the time and effort by doing it for them whenever possible. ;)

I wasn't trying to cut into your sales ;) I would have definitely bought them from you and avoided the work had they been available at the store at the time. It was a pain to be sure. Impatience gets me every time.

Trust me on this, going through what I went through is not worth the pocket change you would save by just getting them here.

The older token packs were done in much the same way as ddavison states, except they were also "crushed" using a compression script within Photoshop for ease of transfer.

I would like to state that as the person who originally worked on the FF token packs (*all 2000+ files) that a lot of hard work goes into making a consistent product that everyone that uses FG can use.

Good job Doug!

No worries. I have done a few of them myself and we have outsourced it to other devs from the community as well. Again, I think it is important that the community has the option to buy or build. One size does not need to fit all.
