Ruleset Error: Infinite Loop

Hey guys,

I got a hold of a ruleset still under development that has a problem:

When you select New to create a new Personality, the Console DM window pops open and gives a non-stop string of error messages...

"Ruleset Error: no vertical anchor defined for (unnamed)"

Any ideas on where to start looking to correct that?

Unfortunately we'd have to see the ruleset in question for any certainty. However the file and line in that file is usually specified in the beginning of the error displayed. You can use that to narrow down the search for the problem.

I recommend giving every element a name. Once you do that, it should show the name of the offending element instead of "unnamed". Even if the system crashes entirely, you can search for the log file and open it in a text reader such as Notepad.exe without having to launch FG again.

If it is still under development, I'd go back to the developer and point the problem out to them.
