Greetings!

My group has decided to jump in and purchase FG. What is out there that can enhance our campaign while using Fantasy Grounds? Are there plenty of modules for 3.5? I will be DM'ing, and the time I have for developing my own adventures is very limited. I just don't want to waste my groups time, when I begin this campaign.

Any suggestions/recommendations to what products would be beneficial to our gaming sessions are most appreciated.

Thanks

Cer

Welcome aboard. We did much the same a year or so ago.

We use the JPG_d20 ruleset for D&D 3.5 which is great.

On the subject of ready made modules it is a bit limited, I have been converting PDF's to FG using word pad and paint.net with reasonable success (I just need to learn to control the memory footprint of the maps)

I suggest Mysteries of the Moonsea as this is broken into nice self contained adventures that take about 45-60 mins prep per week ... maybe less.

There are several made by White Haired Man in the store currently that are worth looking at as well. They are listed under 'Other Products'.

Doug? Would it be difficult to make a 'D20' section and put those under that? It might help people looking for it.

Thanks for the feedback. So d20 is 3.5?

Would I need this (https://www.fantasygrounds.com/store/product.xcp?id=DGA054)?

Thanks

That is the Modern Version of D20.

D&D 3.5 I suppose is not strictly a D20 product, when WOTC released D&D 3.0 they also allowed third parties to release compatible products, these could be either D20 or OGL (open game license).

WOTC also later released a modern version of the D&D rules which is what the above is.

Digital Adventures did release a D&D version (not sure it was 3.0 or 3.5 though).

Hope that helps.

P.S. I second the recommendation of the White Haired Man adventures (I used the Savage Worlds versions) they are well written and fun to GM.

That ruleset is for d20 Modern as Doswelk mentioned. You don't have to buy any ruleset to use the White Haired Man OGL/3.5 version. Fantasy Grounds ships with a basic OGL/3.5 based ruleset out of the box.

If you opted for Savage Worlds version of our products, you'd need the Savage Worlds Ruleset as that is not built into basic software.

There's a d20 (i.e. 3.5) ruleset available on the downloads page (here (https://www.fantasygrounds.com/downloads/)). But there's a much better one (the D20_JPG ruleset) here (https://www.fouruglymonsters.com/community/community/groups/viewgroup/62-DD+3rd+Edition+FG+Development). You have to join the 3rd Edition development group to download it, but it's free.

FG comes with reference modules for the monsters, magic items, spells, and basic rules, but you'll probably want to keep your books handy anyway.

The FUM site (above) also has maps and tokens available. There's more free tokens here (https://www.rpgvirtualtabletop.com/accessories/tokens.html). And of course, there's ones for sale in the store. I think Gaming Army link (https://www.gamingarmy.com/) has some available too. Wizard's site (https://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/downloads) has some nice maps. There's also some free adventures on their site that could be cut-and-pasted into FG.

Be sure to check out the module-making video tutorial (and the other tutorials on the downloads page (first link above) as well, they do a pretty good job of walking you through the process of converting an adventure to FG.

Good luck!
