I've been trying to find the 4e Parser for the last couple days to no avail. I'm trying to import some of the rules from my 4e books into fantasy grounds.
If anyone has the parser and can send it to me it would be greatly appreciated, I don't really want to copy/paste all the data manually.
Thanks

I'm not sure, but I believe this is the most recent versionL

The parser has been removed for the time being. See https://www.fouruglymonsters.com/community/community/groups/viewdiscussion/817-Death+of+the+Parser?groupid=49 for details.

I was really hoping to download Parser. =( I had a copy I downloaded awhile back but lost it when I upgraded to Windows 7. If someone would help me out with getting it, I would greatly appreciate it. My email is willfuqua at gmail dot com.
I really hope things work out where the Parcer can be available again and it continues to evolve.
Take Care,
Will

Something to consider. It would be a major disrepect to Tenian, not to mention potential copyright issues, for people to start distributing the software around without his permission.

Agreed drahkar. Also, Tenian mentioned over at FUM that the parser will likely continue on in some form as he has found a solution to his concerns. Stay tuned!

This probably belongs in the Armory and not in the Workshop, but

Thanks for the link. This is really new to me, so it's going to take awhile to learn how to use it. But, I think it'll definitely be worth it.
I'm looking at the information at FG Wiki and it seems to be for an older version, but still some good info. The included "Parcer Document" is nice, but a little over my head. I'm right now trying to understand the setting to use for the MM in Parcer. Like "Category", "Modelstring", and the last four "Adventure", etc. I'm guessing the "Temporary Directory" is where I have my mmdata.txt and mmfluff.txt. And the "Module Directory" is the modules folder in FG2.
If anyone has any links to other tutorials on the newest Parser that would be great.
Thanks,
Will

If anyone needs help using the new parser for basic extraction or setup, hit me up. There is an old wiki walk through, but if you load up one of the samples from the install file and look how everything is setup. And then look at the stats, and fluff files, you can get a general idea on how everything needs to be configured.
I read through the walk through a few times and then decided just to goof with the program, I found it pretty simple to pick up, but thats just for basic extraction of characters from the monster manual PDF.

IF you have a DDI subscription, it's even easier....you really don't have anything to do (as long as you want the important stuff and not all the text from the books).

The DDI extract definitely reduces the volume of work you need to do to get results. But it really depends on what you consider important. It can only extract what the compendium contains...which is less than what the CB contains, and even less still than the printed materials.
For example diseases, item set powers, and familiars are missing from the compendium. This could be a non-issue or a major flaw depending on the nature of your campaign.

Agreed. I enjoy the functionality as it generates the txt files which I can then add to as I need and parse what I need to be complete.
Thanks as always for the parser Tenian!
