Hello all,

Being in the military Im seperated from several friends by some distance and was hoping to find a good online toolset to start RPing with. Which brings me to Fantasy grounds and my frustrations thus far...

Today was my first attempt to fumble around with the demo system and found it extremely frustrating. I tried to watch the demo video's but not one would of the links would work. I tried even to youtube some a possible user demo with no luck (but I would like to point out there are several other toolset demos)...

Needless to say can anyone point me to a place I can do some reading or some vids on getting started. Feeling like and idiot and not knowing where to go is not the best way to sell a product. The fact that I would be the most willing out of my friends to pay for this and the amount of frustration I already feel makes it a hard sell to my other friends.

Even with my frustrations Im not without hope. So any kind soul that wouldnt mind taking a few moments to point me in the right direction has my thanks in advance!

First the videos can be downloaded from this site in the downloads sections - scroll all the way down on the right. https://www.fantasygrounds.com/downloads/

If you would prefer to view it online you can stream it from RPG Virtual tabletop. Its in the tutorial section under Fantasy Grounds. https://www.rpgvirtualtabletop.com/tutorials/tutorials.html

Finally the Library section on this site as a basic User Guide here: https://www.fantasygrounds.com/library/

If you have specific questions about the software let us know.

I know I came off a bit negative in my post, it was more frustration than anything else. The first link you referenced I had found prior to my post. I had downloaded the demo there, but none of the tutorial video links worked.
The third link I also had found, but to me seems to assume you have a basic understanding of how things work (which Im sure the video's will cover).

I will try the streaming videos once I get home from work tonight, thanks for hooking me up with that link.

FG2 was really frustrating for me at first, too, because it diverges so much from user interfaces that I am used to. I found that the main source of my confusion was that I didn't realize the right-click menu changed depending on where your mouse was. When you want to take an action with a specific portion of the program, try right clicking on it. Doesn't always work, but that's what unlocked the basics of FG2 for me, anyway.

That's good advice in FG. If in doubt right click or use the mouse wheel. The right click menu is a radial menu where you can right click hold and drag. Be aware that in the demo you can't save anything so don't waste a lot of time inputting things.
