setDatabaseNode

I was just digging through the code for the Library, which I seldom have cause to amend in a ruleset, and noticed that it uses a setDatabaseNode method to change the contents of the right-hand pane when a book in the left-hand pane is selected.

Does anyone know if this is a generally-available method, or if it is just specific to windowlist controls? I can't find documentation on it in the XML and Scripting Reference.

I seem to recall trying to use it with a string field, with mixed results. Though my results may have been due to using it improperly, if my memory is correct, it is generally available. It may or may not work properly for other things, though.

I was hoping to use it for a subwindow as part of a formattedtext work-a-round but I seem to remember it didn't work :(

I haven't been able to get it to work outside windowlist, but I'm not an expert either.
