Skill question in 3.5

Got another newb question, hopefully the last for a while. :)

I am sure it is just something I am missing. I am trying to enter skills on a 3.5 character sheet. At the bottom it says available ranks is 0. I can't change it and I can't enter skill ranks.

I have added a few levels to my character hoping it would somehow know that the class I entered gained X number of skill ranks but it did not work.

So, what am I missing? How do I increase the number of available skill ranks?

You should be able to either type in the number in available ranks(after clicking the "0") or use the mouse wheel to increase it.
Or you can right click the skills sheet and select direct adjustment and just put in the skill points directly.

Still couldn't change the available ranks but I was able to go in to direct adjustment mode. Thank you.
