getting players int combat tracker

I'm a noob and on my first try with players connected to my home game i could not drag players into the combat tracker for the 4E_jpg. how do you do this?

I don't use 4E, but you usually can just click and drag their portrait into the combat tracker.

For clarity, you drag the character portraits at the top left of the desktop onto the combat tracker. In the 4E ruleset you can also drag PCs from the character selection list onto the tracker by drag and dropping the portrait also.
