It is already hot in Bartonville, Texas. It has been almost two weeks since you have away from Sulphur, Louisianna. Where you are going, you are not sure. What you are sure of is that you'll never play poker with Freddy Cormier again. The farther away you are from him the better you say.

It all began one evening when you cowpokes decided to gamble your earnings at Madame Lussier's saloon. A group of rich easteners were vacationning in town on the Golden Tide, a steamboat casino that tours Lake Charles every summer. Careful planning and well placed bribed helped you slip on board in the middle of the night and take valuables from their well-off owners. Jewelery, money, gold, shares, you name it, you "borrowed" them. You snuck back into your boat and sped off back to shore.

Having ridden on your horse all night, you saw the sun rise in Sulphur before the poor (pun intended) tourists were even awake.

It is with a harlot on your lap, a shot of whiskey down your throat and five cards in your hand that you sat in Madame Lussier's saloon and shared a mutual coy smile. The festivities were on the right track. Your shot glass never far from the whiskey bottle, your beer mug never empty, booze and alcohol flowed. The local cajun gentleman playing poker with you was of excellent company. He shared stories of his travels, funny jokes and accounts of indecent companionship with the ladies, one of which who happend to miss both thumbs. Before you realized what was going on, the slick gambler sat there with all your loot at the corner of his table with his posse behind him tapping on their holster.

"Well gentlemen, I reckon you are out of chips to gamble with! Easy! easy! Du calme mes amis! I have a proposition to make" he said while cracking his knuckles. "One last hand. Any of you beat me, you can have it all back. Oui mes amis! Everything. The wager you ask? If I win, I take your souls along with everything I've already won from you. Mais non mes amis! not stolen, won fair and square. What do you say?"

Those of you that were not too drunk to accept the deal right away figured good ole' Freddy was out of his mind and decided to go along with it.

You laid out your cards with confidence. Four of a kind (8 of diamonds), full house (pair of deuces and 3 10's) , 2 pairs (aces and 6) but you knew that was not enough when the bastard grinned from ear to ear as he laid out the 10, Jack, Queen, King and Ace, all from a different suite.

"Someone will come claim your soul on the next full moon" he said matter of factly.
"That is unless you manage to beat this hand. But right now I will take my leave mes amis. I have some business to take care of" said Freddy Cormier as he got up from his chair and wrapped his arm around Lucy Burton.

More upset out by the fact that you had lost your loot and could not muster the courage to fight Cormier's man to get it back than anything else you decided to leave town in search of fortune.

It is then that, while camping out underneath the star your eyes were shocked by the sight of a coach pulled by four stallions and driven by a mysterious figure. Far away from any major route, and more importantly, the bizarre fact that the coach was not travelling on any road, gave the night a dreadful chill. You all looked at each other and nodded. Perhaps Freddy Cormier was not fooling with you afterall. You all heard the legend of the Black Coachman. The one who claims souls for the Devil.

It did not take long for all of you to start gambling the little bit of cash you had left in the next town hoping to be dealt that decisive hand of salvation. No such luck. No luck at all for nearly two weeks.

It is about to get real hot in Bartonville, Texas. Your horses needs rest. You need a drink. But most importantly, you need to save your soul...

bump

The system is Fast Fun and Furious. Combats are exciting and fast.

If you dont know about Deadlands, think Wild Wild West meets the Evil Dead. Fantasy and horror elements in a Weird West setting. It's an award winning game. I'm a veteran of 20 years when it comes to RPG's. I am not comfortable using FG2. I promise you will enjoy this.

So come on in. Don't be shy.

Do you have a deadlands ruleset? The background sounds quite interesting, and it has been about 3 years since I was able to actually play something. I could definatly be interested in this, though I have only played DL once, and it was about 5 years ago.

Any others interested besides me?

alright, so we have 2 confirmed players, with 4 more left to confirmed... it's too early to start on june 12th... hopefully we can start on the 19th.

If you dont like the pre gens, we can arrange to make your character sometime until then. I can put the server up so we can enter all that.
