I'm at the point where I'm interested in trying to make (edit) and run a few LFR adventures. But I've run into a few problems and hope some people here have answers.

1) In the RPGA Group - The Fantsy Grounds Online RGPA Group. Some people have already made up a few mods for LFR adventures. Found here https://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/RPGA_Group/ in the files section. I have not been able to figure out where to copy and past the info after I unzip it.

What and how do I do this?

2) Is there any free, easy to use, programs out there for creating campaign, tactical map?

Otherwise, which program do people suggest I buy?

Have looked at and played with all the free/demo maps found in these links
https://www.profantasy.com/
https://www.cartographersguild.com/
https://www.dundjinni.com/

Thanks,

1) The downloaded module files e.g. core1-1, wate1-1 etc. should be copied to your the modules directory in your FGII application data folder.

If your using XP, this will be something like:

c:\Document & Settings\<your xp account name>\Application Data\Fantasy Grounds II\

on Vista its something like:

c:\Users\<your vista account name>\App Data\Roaming\Fantasy Grounds II\

In addition, these modules require the 4E_JPG ruleset for D&D 4e. This should be installed into the rulesets sub folder in the application data directory. You can find details on how to download a copy of the 4E_JPG
from the D&D 4e FG2 group at FUM (https://www.fouruglymonsters.com) (https://www.fouruglymonsters.com%29).

2) Not sure about free. Maybe GiMP/Inkscape or another opensource graphics package. For a quick no frills random dungeon/cave creator, you can try https://www.gozzys.com. For a decent Tiles Builder version check out Yahoo Groups for Jai's Tile Mapper v2.0 software group. You can expand the tiles in v2.0 and are not constrained to a finite number of tiles.

I personally use Campaign Cartographer 3, Dungeon Designer 3 and Photoshop CS4 however these are expensive commercial solutions and may not suit your budget.

I tried Dundjinni and hated it (expensive and offers nothing that I can't achieve with CC3/DD3/PSCS4).

Anyway hope that helps.

LFR modules are all built using Dungeon Tile maps, so the Dungeon Tile mapper in your list is probably the easiest choice.

Tried this on a couple different module files and couldn't get them to work. Guess I'll have to give it another go and see if I can figure out what I did wrong.

I've tried out the Dungeon Tile mapper. While I was able to make some maps I liked. I wasn't able to save them anywhere. Must have been doing something wrong and just couldn't figure it out.
Any suggestions on what I should be doing to save these maps?

Make them fit on a screen and screen capture them. That's what I do.

Make sure you have created a campaign with the 4E_JPG ruleset and then make sure the modules are activated.

Some modules (like adventure modules) may show nothing in the library even when they are active. The data from these modules may be entirely in the boxes on the right hand of the screen (Maps, Encounters, Story, Personalities, Items, etc).

There is a bug/feature in FGII that the module will not show anything in those boxes unless at least 1 item exists in the base campaign. I typically go into all those boxes with no modules loaded and use the add new item option. Then I open my module and the items magically appear.

Sometimes just the initial display in a "book" is blank after you load a module. If you click on the tab at the bottom left, the entries will "magically" appear. :p
