Preloading images

Open the image or map you wish to work on.

Invoke the image radial menu, and select the "Preload Image" option.

The image data will be transferred to the connected clients in the background. The completion of this operation will be indicated by a web icon in the top right corner of the image.

Sharing a preloaded image is instantaneous, causing no load time on the clients.

Enabling the grid

Open the image or map you wish to work on.

Invoke the image radial menu, and enter the "Layers" submenu.

Select the option "Set Grid".

The cursor will turn into a grid placement icon. Drag on the image using the mouse to place one grid square. The size of the square is displayed in pixels.

The grid will be constructed by extrapolating from the grid square you placed. Token underlays and pointer areas will be hilighted based on the grid squares they cover, and tokens will snap to grid intersections and center points.

Disabling the grid

Open the image or map you wish to work on.

Invoke the image radial menu, and enter the "Layers" submenu.

Select the option "Grid Off".

Adjusting the grid

Disable the grid.

Crate a new grid using the methods described in "Enabling the grid".

Zooming the image

Spin the mouse wheel over an empty area of the map to zoom in and out on that location.

Press down the control key.

The scroller gadget will turn into a zoom tool. Press the mouse down on this control.

Move the mouse up or down to zoom in or out.

Release the mouse button when the desired zoom level is reached.

Using the navigator to quickly navigate large images

Invoke the radial menu of the image area.

Select the "Layers" submenu.

Select the "Navigator" option.

Click on an area to focus on, or press and drag to preview areas in the background before closing the navigator.

Focusing players on an area

Adjust the size of the image sheet, the zoom factor and/or the view point.

Reshare the sheet by selecting "Update Shared Sheet" from the sheet radial menu.

All players will have the map/image sheet adjusted to match the settings on the Gamemaster.

Masking images

Open the image or map you wish to work on.

Invoke the image radial menu, and enter the "Layers" submenu.

Select the option "Enable Mask".

The entire image will be masked. Hidden areas are translucent in the Gamemaster view. Sharing such an image will cause it to be entirely hidden to the players.

The image will enter mask mode - the cursor will change to the reveal mask tool icon, and any areas covered by using the mouse will be revealed to the players. See the topic "Revealing masked areas" for further information.

Revealing masked areas

To reveal masked areas, the cursor must be in the reveal mask tool mode. It can be identified by a cursor icon consisting of an arrow and an eye. To enable this mode, invoke the image radial menu, select the "Layers" submenu, and the "Enter Mask Mode" option.

Draw a line around the area you wish to reveal using the mouse, by pressing the left mouse button down, and moving the mouse cursor around the desired area. Lifting the mouse button will complete the operation.

To exit the reveal mask mode, invoke the image radial menu, select the "Layers" submenu and the "Exit Mask Mode" option.

Locking tokens

Invoke the radial menu on any token on an image.

Select "Lock Tokens".

Tokens cannot be moved, created or deleted by players. Players moving tokens will create token movement waypoints.

To unlock tokens, select "Unlock Tokens" on the radial menu of any token on the map.

Accepting a move indicated by waypoints

When tokens are locked, players can create waypoints the tokens will be moved along if the Gamemaster accepts the move as valid.

Invoke the radial menu on the token whose movement you wish to accept.

Select the option "Accept Move".

Click on the token with the mouse middle button (wheel button) or the left mouse button holding the control key depressed.

Token visibility

Tokens can be toggled invisible or visible based on their display status as seen by the players viewing a shared map. A third, mask sensitive mode causes the tokens to be automatically hidden if they are located on a masked area of the image, or displayed otherwise.

Invoke the radial menu of the token whose visibility status you wish to change. Activate the "Visibility" submenu.

Select one of the options "Set always invisible", "Set always visible" or "Mask sensitive visibility" based on the option you wish to enable.

Locking the token scale

By default, tokens retain their natural size when the map is zoomed. To prevent this, you can lock the token scale for all tokens, causing them to be zoomed along with the map itself. The token scale is locked relative to the zoom factor active when the operation is performed, making this an useful option for sizing all tokens to the active grid size.

Open the image or map you wish to work on.

Zoom the map in or out to reach the desired relative size of the map and the tokens.

Invoke the radial menu on any token on the map, and select "Lock token scale".

All tokens on the map will scale to maintain their size relative to the current zoom level.

To unlock the token scale, invoke the radial menu on any token on the map and select "Release token scale".

Expanding drawings

Images with no base bitmap image can be expanded to allow for more room for drawing.

Open an image with no base bitmap you wish to expand.

Invoke the radial menu of the image, and select the "Drawing" submenu.

Enter the "Expand drawing" secondary submenu.

Select the direction you wish to expand the drawing in, by selecting one of the given menu options.

The drawing will be expanded by 50% of its current dimensions in the selected direction.

Clearing the drawing layer

Open the image or map you wish to work on.

Select the "Drawing" submenu.

Select the "Clear Drawing" option.

The entire drawing layer on the current image will be cleared.

Enabling the pin layer

Pins can be placed on images/maps to create shortcuts to other sheets.

Open the image or map you wish to work on.

Select the "Layers" submenu.

Select the "Enable Shortcuts" option.

Pins will be visible, and they can be created or deleted.

To hide pins, invoke the radial menu and select "Disable Shortcuts" in the "Layers" submenu.

- OR -

Press down the control key while working on a map.

Pins can be viewed, selected, created and deleted while the control key is depressed.

Creating pins

Enable the pins.

Drag any sheet shortcut onto the image.

A pin will be created.

Deleting pins

Enable the pins.

Invoke the radial menu of a pin on the map, and select "Delete Shortcut".

Resizing image window

Depress the Control key

Initiate a drag on the image window and move the mouse to resize the image window. The ruleset determines the maximum and minimum allowed image sizes.
