Modifying number fields using the mouse wheel

Make sure the target field is not a read only control. If it is, adjust the source values instead.

Hover the mouse over the number value you wish to adjust.

Spin the mouse wheel up (to increment) or down (to decrement) to adjust the value in the field.

Modifying number fields using the keyboard

Make sure the target field is not a read only control. If it is, adjust the source values instead.

Click on the number field to bring the keyboard focus to that control.

Type in a new number, without deleting the existing number in the field.

To re-enter the value, wait for 2 seconds between keystrokes.

To end the operation, press esc or click outside the control.

Dragging values from/onto the character sheet

The most convenient way to move number values to or from fields on the character sheet is to use mouse drags.

Locate the number you want to apply.

Locate the control receiving the dragged number.

Drag using the left button of the mouse from the source to the destination.

The exact results of the drag might vary based on the controls involved. Dropping a number on the experience or wounds fields will add the dropped number to the current total, most other fields will replace the existing value with the new value.

Adding entries to lists

Many items on the character sheet, such as weapons, skills, special abilities, inventory items and spells are stored in a list.

Invoke the radial menu on the list area.

Select the "Create Item" option.

A new item will be created, ready for data input.

Deleting entries from lists

Invoke the radial menu on the item you wish to delete.

Select the "Delete Item" option.

The item is deleted from the list.

Using the weapon list

Open the character sheet on the "Combat" page.

Locate the weapon list on the bottom of the page.

A new item can be created using the radial menu of the list.

To name the item, type a text string on the description line.

To select the melee attack bonus or ranged attack bonus for use with the weapon, click on the type icon located after the name field.

Set the number of attacks by modifying the corresponding field. The individual attack bonuses are automatically calculated and displayed. To modify individual attacks, use the mouse wheel on the specific attack bonus control.

Apply a miscellaneous bonus to attack using the field next to the number of attacks field. The bonus is applied to all attacks.

Set the damage dice for the weapon by dragging dice into the left hand side of the damage field. The right hand side is a numeric modifier to damage, and can be set using the mouse wheel, the keyboard or by dragging and dropping.

Set the information on the critical range and multiplier of the weapon by typing the information into the corresponding fields under the damage controls. These have no direct effect and are for reference purposes.

For ranged weapons or weapons suitable for ranged attacks, set the range increment and the number of available ammunition. The maximum number of ammo available in this list is 20, to use more than that, keep track of quivers or cases on the inventory page and refresh the counter when needed.

Making attack rolls

Open the character sheet on the "Combat" page.

Drag from an individual attack field on the weapon list, or from the number of attacks field to make a full attack.

Dice will be automatically grabbed, with the corresponding modifiers and description strings.

Drop the dice onto the chat window. You can also use this method to create attack hot keys.

Special abilities

Numbers or dice can be dragged onto abilities to add a number or die field that can be used e.g. to keep track of daily uses of abilities or sneak attack damage. There is also a minisheet that displays the special abilities having a number and/or a die value.

Open the Abilities tab on the character sheet.

Focus the cursor to the Special Abilites field and write a label for the ability.

If the uses of the ability need to be tracked or it has a relevant dice roll, drag a number or dice on the line of the ability being modified.

Adding spells from rule books

Activate the module "d20 Spells" (see the module section for details).

Open the library from the tabletop.

Select the "d20 Spells" book, and open the spell list you wish to access.

Open the character sheet on the "Spells" page.

Make sure you have at least one class available, and that the number of available spells on the level you wish to add spells on is greater than zero.

Drag a spell, from the rectangular drag handle on the spell list in the library, to the character sheet spell list you want to add the spell to.

Spontaneous and prepared casting

Open the character sheet on the "Spells" page.

Locate the spontaneous/prepared icon on the left side of the class name.

Click on the icon to toggle the casting type.

Casting mode and preparation mode

Open the character sheet on the "Spells" page.

Locate the "Preparation mode" check box at the bottom of the page.

Check the check box for preparation mode or uncheck it for casting mode. Preparation mode allows you to modify the preparation details (number of spells memorized). Casting mode allows you to modify the number of spells cast.

Using mini sheets

It is often inconvenient to keep a character sheet open as it takes up a large portion of the entire tabletop space. For this purpose, there are various mini sheets available that summarize portions of the character sheet data that is not hotkeyable but is referenced often. With careful hotkeying and mini sheet usage, you do not need to access the main character sheet often.

Mini sheets are available for:

• AC, hit points and wounds
• Ammunition
• Special abilities
• Inventory
• Coins
• Spells

Locate the "Mini" buttons on the character sheet.

Click on the button to open the mini sheet.

You can now close the main character sheet and access the most crucial information on the mini sheets.

Preparing for play without the character sheet open

It is often inconvenient to keep a character sheet open as it takes up a large portion of the entire tabletop space. The hot key bar and mini sheets can be used for fast access to crucial statistics and optimal use of tabletop space.

Open the character sheet.

Drag the modifiers you need most often to the hot key bar. Good candidates are saves, initiative, the most important skill bonuses and attacks. Press the shift, alt and control keys in various combinations to access more hot key slots.
