    Fantasy Grounds - Beta Release v4.4.4

    Target Release Date: Oct/Nov 2023

    As always, we're a small company so we rely on our community to help sound out each new release. Thanks in advance to all those who pitch in.

    Accessing the Beta
    Only the Test mode slot contains this version. Test Mode can be accessed by selecting the Settings button from the Fantasy Grounds launch screen, changing the mode setting in the Settings dialog, and then selecting Update button to update the files to the test version. I will update this thread as I release new iterations of the test version.

    Beta Data
    When using the Test channel in Fantasy Grounds Settings, your data files for the Test version will be stored in a separate subfolder under the main Fantasy Grounds data folder called "channels\Test\". This will not impact any campaigns in the Live mode (until full release occurs).

    Key Things
    1) Always backup your campaign data before running the test version.
    2) If the GM is running on Test channel, then all of the players will also be running on Test channel.
    3) If you encounter an issues log them in the relevant testing thread - don't use the generic House of Healing, but use this forum.
    4) Do not use the Test build for your games if you and your group are not comfortable with testing pre-release software.
    5) Do not use the Test build for developer DLC for store or forge submission (as the data file formats may have changed, or will change more during the beta).

    • Peek through option added to LoS section of the image data control panel. (in grid units)
    • Console error auto-open behavior can be suppressed by using the "/console skip" chat command.
    • Improvements of memory management of image code to improve long session performance.
    • Image export support for .webp file format added.
    • Remove display compression for small images with transparency.
    • Update image token vision coloring to post-multiply implementation to prevent artifacting with FX layers.
    • Image closed polygon drawing when fill not used was not being edited as expected. Fixed.
    • Image masking of cloud and rain effects not displaying correctly in host mode. Fixed.
    • Image mask area selection handles were not always visible. Fixed.
    • Image secret door line-of-sight blocker toggles not positioned correctly. Fixed.
    • Image token path remained displayed on map after deleting token. Fixed.
    • Image line-of-sight blocker splitting for door trimming not working on layers in folders. Fixed.
    • List data sometimes displaying outside sheets for nested lists. Fixed.
    • Ring of Elements dice ring transparency not correct for some of the dice. Fixed.
    • Link drops were incorrectly modifying formatted text fields when marked read only. Fixed.
    • [DEV] Updated to latest LTS Unity engine.
    • [DEV] Improved performance on node deletion handler code
    • [DEV] dragdata - isType function can now accept numerically indexed table of strings as parameter.
    • [DEV] imagecontrol - getGridOffset/setGridOffset now confines values to positive modulo of grid size.
    • [DEV] stringcontrol - Added default.text tag/attribute
    • [DEV] windowclass - minimum size used as default size, if minimum size defined but not default size.
    • [DEV] windowcontrol - setAnchor function can now accept table as second parameter
    • [DEV] windowcontrol - Added addDropType/deleteWidget/getAnchor/getAnchoredWidth/getAnchoredHeight/resetDropTypes functions.

    • Image drawing erase not supporting undo behavior. Fixed.
    • Image painting mode missing cursor preview. Fixed.
    • Token visibility not calculating correctly on Mac machines. Fixed.
