I am at a loss on the connection test

I'm a new user who just came to FG from Roll 20 bought the ultimate License to try and make things simple on my new players and I know nothing about Port forwarding. I have tried finding the answer on my own through many youtube videos and forums and I am missing something because the connection test always fails. I'm completely lost when it comes to networking so I'm not sure if I'm just missing something. Any help would be appreciated. I'm not closed to the vpn option that I've seen would just like to try the port 1802 option for my players first so they don't have to download anything extra (zero tier)

Welcome to the forums and FG Community.

This website will help with Portforwarding steps.
    https://portforward.com/

It may turn out depending on location that you have to use a VPN till the Unity version comes out because of ISP's switching to IPv6 addresses.

I appreciate the reply. I did try the portforward.com and I'm having no success thank you for the response though. Ill have to look at the release time for the unity version

Welcome to the forums blueknight122, sorry you're having issues.

A couple of things to try:
    1) From a command prompt type tracert 8.8.8.8 and post the results here - this will help us identify your network architecture.
    2) Make sure your network connection on the GM computer is set to private.
    3) Make sure that whatever security/Anti-virus software you run on your computer is set to allow TCP port 1802 communication and also to allow FantasyGrounds.exe to access the network.

Hops 2 and 3 on that tracert are internal IP addresses. So it looks like your ISP is sharing public IP addresses (quite common now).

You have a couple of options:
    1) ring your ISP and see if they can setup port forwarding for you. Say you need TCP port 1802 forwarding for peer to peer gaming. They may or may not be able to do it.
    2) use a VPN solution that us known to work with Fantasy Grounds. See info here: https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forum...d-Alternatives

    10 15 ms 14 ms 11 ms google-public-dns-a.google.com [8.8.8.8]

I also have screenshot of every step i have taken in my firewall and router if that would be helpful.

I'd really appreciate any help I can get.

    Thank you.

It looks like you have a separate router and modem (the first 2 hops are internal IP addresses) so you would need to chain your port forwarding from one to the other and then to your computer.
If there is something that you would like to see in Fantasy Grounds that isn't currently part of the software or if there is something you think would improve a ruleset then add your idea here https://www.fantasygrounds.com/featu...rerequests.php

Hi Zacchareus, thank you for your help.
I ´opened´ the port on router 192.168.1.1, so I'm guessing i would need to do the exact same thing on 192.168.0.1? (it requires a password, so will have to get that from the house owner)
When I ´open´ the port on that router I will have to enter an i.p. at some point, which i.p. would that be?
