Calling All (Wanna-be) Voice Actors

Hi All,

One of the things that grates on me (as a GM) over the years is the fact that all my NPCs sound like the same person - me! This has become even more pronounced as I record NPC speech bubbles for Syrinscape for my games.

I'm sure you have this problem too!

So what I am proposing is that we use a Syrinscape Forum Thread (here) as a "register" of those that would like to read and record some NPC "scripts" for others, with the idea that others will do the same for us.

So, let's get together and build a list of different "voice actors" that we can all share with each other.

Great idea. My natural accent is a Texas twang but I think I can do some others half-decently. What software and formats do you propose?

Well, I've been doing my stuff (badly, I might add

) for Syrinscape, so the default Syrinscape format, I suppose. Mind you, whatever the two parties agree on would work just as well. This is more of an idea of simply getting a group of varied people/voices together (virtually) to do sort of a "Hey, I need a male American accent to do some dialog for Wyat Erp - here's the script, can anybody help out?" or "I'm after an English female for a damsal-in-distress" or "I need a German male scientist" or "Can anyone do a female succubus (demon)?" kind of thing.

Trouble with you recording for me is that it'll give away the campaign plot - or was that your idea

lol, no, not my idea. I assumed the Wyatt Earp type voice you needed was for the campaign I'm not in! Though I am totally willing to record the Star Devil for you...
