Port forwarding on Asus RT-AC3100 help please

Skipping the time and money already spent trying to get this going without you guys, I'm going to start fresh.

If I connect my laptop with windows 10, the one I am trying to DM with, straight into the modem, https://canyouseeme.org/ can see my ports. But, obviously, doing so cuts out EVERYONE else who use the internet. So, I would prefer getting this done correctly through the router.

Starting over, how far I currently am is in the pic...

Thanks in advance for all of the help!!

Check here for your router model https://portforward.com/asus/rt-ac3100/
If FG can’t do UPnP with it, do it manually. Don’t forget to set static IP in the DHCP settings for the computer.

Welcome to the forum, Jegs! Until a mod approves your attachment, we can't view it. Before we even see that, if you haven't already, make sure you allow fantasygrounds.exe in whatever Antivirus you are using and if you are using MalwareBytes, do a quick search of the forums here as you might have to disable certain functionality of it to make sure FG will work.

Welcome to the forums, sorry it's problems that have brought you here. But, glad you are here and we'll get you going before too long

Can't see your attachment yet, so will just give you some info to get started.

You can certainly set a static IP on your computer as Valyar says, but I do it by reserving an IP in the router (since I'm going there anyway, and if I'm on another wireless network, I don't want to conflict with any IPs already assigned there.) Don't know other pros/cons though.

Make sure you are forwarding using IPv4 and not IPv6. FG only supports IPv4. (v4 looks like 192.168.0.25, where v6 is ugly like 2600:8800:FF0A:...)

You need to forward all inbound traffic on port 1802 to your internal IPv4.

Hey thanks everyone for all your responses! I've been going though them and changing what I can. I am in a rush right now but will be back tonight.

The pic I posted was just showing my setting in the router. I am afraid I messed them up on my restart of this whole thing.

    It reads;

    Service Name: Fantasy Grounds
    Source Target:
    Port Range: 1802
Local IP: 192.168.1.109 (which is "static", but I am currently going through the steps to confirm it was done right)
    Local Port:
    Protocol: TCP

It's the blanks that worry me...

I am deleting Malwarebytes and my expired antivirus to see if they are the problem... Only because the guy I paid said he already did it, but I'm doing it now...

Thanks for the advice; Valyar, Gwydion, and LordEntrails!! And thanks for the welcomes! Glad to be here!! After deleting the protecters I'll continue going through your recommendations and get back to you all tonight!

    Thanks again!!

Who many devices do you have on your network?

Please type tracert 8.8.8.8 in a command window and post the results here - this will help to identify your exact setup.

Thanks! I joined the discord channel as soon as I saw your post, LordEntrails.

Here's my pic of cmd tracert, Trenloe. It seems low though. It's a slow electronic day today.

Tracert always takes a while because it combines data to produce the average, min and max values. 20ms to the end target isn't too shabby! ;-)

This shows that you've just got the router (192.168.1.1) between you and the Internet.

If it works when you directly connected to the modem, then it doesn't sound like there will be an issue on your computer (unless the network type changed - see #4 below) - it will be part of the routing from modem -> router -> computer running FG.

    To double check:
    1) You're getting a failure of the FG connection test?
    2) When you use canyouseeme.org to check port 1802 you have FG running with a campaign fully loaded - as if you're waiting for players to connect?
    3) On the load campaign screen, FG sees you local address as 192.168.1.109 and your external address as the "Your IP" entry reported by canyouseeme.org?
    4) Your network connection on your FG computer is shown as private, not public?
    5) You've rebooted the router after applying the port forward rule - and checked that it is still there?
