    Syrinscape and WOTC

So, for those that missed the announcement yesterday, it looks like Syrinscape is officially partnering with WOTC with first "official" d&d sounds out on September 8th. Can't wait for this!

I'm a bit done with Syrinscape. Battlebards has reached maturity and has better sound offerings, you also don't need to rent access to their mixer.

Ok. I have Battlebards as well and never use it personally. It isn't an option for me given I stream. I do agree that they have improved from what they were initially, but I'm still a Syrinscape guy. To be clear, what I mean is that Battlebards is VERY specific on exactly what you need to do for every single track you play during a stream. Its very challenging to comply with. I've even communicated with them about it to make sure I was clear on what had to be done. Syrinscape is very open about allowing you to use their sounds in a stream. Until that changes for Battlebards, I don't think I will be able to use it. I created this thread to highlight that Syrinscape used to be very focused on Pathfinder Adventure Paths given their agreement with Paizo. I'm just excited now that they will have similar support for WOTC adventures.

As for renting the Syrinscape mixer, just to clarify for those following this thread, that isn't something you need to do. I never have. It all depends I suppose on how you are using the applications. I use Ableton Live Lite (and there are other free DAWs available) to create my soundpads and triggers for tracks I own (mp3's, etc.) and I typically run syrinscape for the moods and automated sound triggers (with the DOE: sound extension). I've never seen a need to upload tracks into syrinscape and store them.

Glad Battlebards is working for you. Always good to have options!

I'm experimenting with sound boards right now so this caught my attention. I'm curious what you mean here? Right now I'm using the Syrinscape desktop client which plays through cleanfeed to my players for free (both). Am I missing something?

My initial experience with Battlebards has been less than stellar. Seems pretty crude in comparison but then I've not been able to play anything or upload. Doesn't look like they have a "Free" version of audio files/tracks to try things out with?

For Soundboards I've been using Ableton Live Lite, but it does require a purchase of a device (the license is usually free with the purchase of some audio devices). I also played around with Stagelight (the free version) and its not bad. It doesn't include VST support unless you upgrade to a paid version though.
