Do I have to use normal character sheets?

Yes, that would be the easiest way of running a drone as it would be considered a PC.

Yes I have set it up in the system already to run a Drone as a PC.
Races Include [Combat Drone/Hover Drone/Stealth Drone]
Classes Include [Drone (Combat)/Drone (Hover)/Drone (Stealth)

The Mechanic Class it self includes two options
Mechanic (Drone) and Mechanic (Exocortex) each has been set-up with the unique options for the two separate styles.

Where do we find the Drone Mods to add to the Drone Companion character sheet?

I do not believe there are actual dragable things to drop on a drone's sheet. Everything that is available for drones will be in the reference manual, but that is only for reference. You can't actually copy and paste from that list.

Actually they are all listed under Basic Mods(Ex) and Advanced Mod(ex)

Well damn.. didn't even look there as I completely forgot to look in the class section. Learned something new..
