    Communicating Game Information Out-Of-Game

Roll20 has automatically gives each game its own forum in which to keep players up-to-date about the next game session or what happened. What does everyone using Fantasy Grounds usually do?

I use WhatsApp to send text messages. The only thing that we ever need to communicate is who is available on the usual game day to see whether the game is on or not.
If there is something that you would like to see in Fantasy Grounds that isn't currently part of the software or if there is something you think would improve a ruleset then add your idea here https://www.fantasygrounds.com/featu...rerequests.php

I have and do use the Game Calendar (not ideal but it allows game scheduling in there), the Groups feature in these forums and also Discord.

Go into Groups and set up your own forum. Also, I use email - have a distribution list for every campaign. Additionally, use the chat available in your campaign page assuming you have one.

In the campaign I DM, we started with the Groups on this forum. You can see how we structured things here:

This worked reasonably well but for various reasons we decided to move to Slack.

In games that I am a player in, Discord tends to be used (Slack and Discord are very similar). There are channels for OOC communication as well as between session communication among characters (which also includes game summaries so there is an ongoing narrative of the campaign).

The Discord server I play on is called The Asylum and it's a place where several DMs and players come. Each campaign can get their own channels for their needs. There is an open invitation for people to join and visit:

I have my own discord chat server (free) we run all our voice chat through there, and I have a chat room for every game (OOC), i also have a chatroom for out-of-session-rp for every game that we play (In Character)

I usually have a thread set up in these forums or in my Guild forums, depending on the make-up of my group. Works well!

I use a few different methods - depending on the stage of the campaign and the group of players.

FG Game Calendar - handy when first starting up the group as it automatically converts session times based off the user's time zone profile settings. Disadvantage - any info posted does not automatically send a notification to players/GM. People need to manually check themselves.

Obsidian Portal - good if you need to store/share campaign information offline between sessions. Sends out email notification for next events. Allows players to add logs/journals, etc..

Facebook Group - can have discussions, setup events, etc.. Good if your players use Facebook.
Private Messages: My inbox is forever filling up with PMs. Please don't send me PMs unless they are actually private/personal messages. General FG questions should be asked in the forums - don't be afraid, the FG community don't bite and you're giving everyone the chance to respond and learn!

I've had mixed results with Facebook, even though I use a closed group. I'm not sure why I guess some players prefer their anonymity. It's really easy to share resources whether its posts to links, uploaded files and documents, schedule events, or just say hello on messenger.
