    Hi all,

I recently got Fantasy Grounds and tried to set it up to host a game, but I'm having connection test failure. I set up my router, Port Forwarding 1802, but I'm not using a static IP, should I set it up like that? My firewall is off and I'm still getting failure. I'm a bit of a noob so sorry if I can't explain things well. I'm running FG on windows 8 on mac bootcamp. I also tried on mac with Winery but still got failure.

    Thanks,

    Slarti

Welcome to the forums and FG community.

Do you have a modem between you and your router? Where in the world are you, some countries have switched to using ivp6 protocols which messes with having a success. If that is the case you will need a VPN till the Unity re-write comes out.

I didn't explain properly. No I have a cable internet connection with a modem/router. I'm currently living in Turkey, maybe they have something that prevents me from doing it. I set up my port forwarding again, I don't have a static IP, but I included my local IP and the external IP (the port forwarding on the router seems to need both), chose both TCP and UDP protocols and ticked "Enable".

Not sure what else I'm supposed to do.

Change all the ports to 1802, in "Local IP" put the IP address of your FG computer. Leave external IP as 0.0.0.0.
Private Messages: My inbox is forever filling up with PMs. Please don't send me PMs unless they are actually private/personal messages. General FG questions should be asked in the forums - don't be afraid, the FG community don't bite and you're giving everyone the chance to respond and learn!

Unfortunately, after doing all that, it still does not work, and I can't understand why. A friend of mine in Scotland did it all with the same settings and it worked fine for him. I'm using a Netmaster Infinity 401. Should I change the Network settings on the Mac?

DHCP / DHCP with manual address / BootP / manually ? these are the options I see.

Sorry guys but I really can't seem to solve this.

You can use the Network Utility application, which is included with Mac OS X, to run trace route.

    Launch Network Utility.

You can do this through Mac OS X Spotlight by typing Network Utility, and then clicking the Top Hit.

    Click Traceroute.

    Enter 8.8.8.8 and Click Trace.

Copy the results and paste here please.

That looks ok so you need to:

    1. Create a port forward rule TCP 1802 (if its a range its 1802 - 1802) to your computers LAN IP on TCP 1802.
    2. Make sure your network profile is set to Private
    3. If you have an Antivirus app with a firewall make sure there is a rule to allow FantasyGrounds.exe to receive inbound traffic.
