Do we need a newer more comprehensive Ad&d 2nd ed ruleset?

is there anyone out there that has the desire and wherewithal to write a new community ruleset for AD&D 2nd ed? what is available is good, but with the improvements to Fantasy Grounds over even just the last year, I think that this could be updated fairly easily by someone that knows how. I am looking into it, but I am not a programmer. I barely dabble in fact.
As an example, the work done on Ronnkes Gurps ruleset vastly improved playability, and is a good example of what could be done to improve the 2nd ed character sheet, though mostly what would make the most difference is the ability of the ruleset to make use of the rest of the fantasy grounds CoreRPG improvements.

Any takers?
