Go with option 2 - the GM and players would need to join into Teamspeak/Discord/Whatever. The players would mute their microphone pickup, with the GM not using a microphone as input but the output of the various audio apps being sent to input of Teamspeak/Discord/Whatever. Then use Roll20 for the voice/video.

Yep... I tend to agree that is the best option and we can definitely do that. Wolfheart, let me know what you think and I'll send detailed directions to you.

Ok, Wolfheart, here it goes! I've attached two sets of instructions. The first "Step by step discord music setup" and "Sound setup when you play a game". Couple disclaimers/warnings first! One - Wolfheart, I would recommend taking a snapshot of all your settings for sounds in windows, audio output settings for your music players, etc.. Just want you to be able to put things back to normal if this doesn't work!!! Second - For anyone else reading the pdf's attached. Please note, I created these specifically for Wolfheart's situation. They might not and probably won't work for you unless you are trying to do EXACTLY what Wolfheart is doing!

Wolfheart, I went with sending you the discord version as you don't need to port forward. If you get it working and your players say the sound quality isn't great, we can try teamspeak. You will already have everything setup, you would just need to setup teamspeak which I can help with. The VLC streaming thing is great, but is more complicated and again requires port forwarding.

If you try it, let me know how it goes! If you don't, no problem. Completely understand. Message me here or PM me if you get into the setup and have questions. Good luck!

Any way, there's been a misunderstanding - I am definitely not gonna use more than one program for mp3s, I just listed the audio playback software I have currently installed, just in case..sorry for the confusion. I do have Discord PBT, but if you (and others here, it seems) thinks it better with TeamSpeak I can download that. What do you think?

PS 2: Should I uninstall VoiceMeter before installing VoiceMeter Banana or can they live side by side? (I use VoiceMeter for recording music)

I would start with discord just to get your feet wet as it is easy. Then see what you think and I can walk your through teamspeak later. That way you have options. Just my thought. And, I'm heading to a flight in an hour so can't help on the teasmpeak right now!

You can keep voicemeter installed. I still have both even through I don't use voicemeeter. Just shut down voicemeeter and open voicemeeter banana.

So, for my instructions, only worry about changing the audio device for what you will play the mp3's through. Hope this gets you going! Please post if you have any problems. good luck!

Hello Gwydion. I have tried your solution with VLC but it only works with machines in the same network. Do you need an special server or ip address to make it works for players out of your local network?

Hey Salva. It should work fine outside your network as well as long as you have opened the port. I'm not a port-forwarding expert, but have you checked to make sure the port is visible? Forgive me if you already know this, but you can check to see if the port you are trying to open is, in fact open, with this site:

https://canyouseeme.org/ Just type in your external ip address and the port you are trying to open and it will show you if it is open or closed.

I've never had an issue with my players logging in and they are all outside of my network in other parts of Colorado.
