Connection Issue

I am testing my campaign by running it from my desktop and trying to log in from my laptop as a player. I made sure the alias was correct but I'm getting "Could not connect to the host. Check the address and try again." All the obvious things I've checked e.g. internet connection works, all lower case and spelled the alias correctly. The Host PC is running an ultimate license as well. I have firewalls turned off.

what to try next?

If both machines are behind the same router, this will rarely work. Just use the internal IP address of the server instead.

Internal IP as in the IP of the machine hosting the game?

When the GM goes to the "Load Campaign" screen it will show you the internal address in the top right - use that to connect if you are running on the same network.
