Campaign to play FFG Tannhauser Game on FG2

    Hello

I've put together a campaign that contains all you need to play the tactical board game Tannhauser with FG2, of you never came across it you can find it here.

It contains so far the character sheets, tokens and fan created maps, you still need to own the rules in order to play the game (they are sold separately) FFG website sells them through here

If you want to try it just download the campaign from here

If you want to see some pics of how it looks like and comment, a Tannhauser community member has posted about it in his blog here

I intend to develop it a bit further as soon as I get some more "FG2 lore"!

If you happen to try it, I welcome the feedback!

Wow- I love the idea of boardgames on FG and the screenshots look great. I've been tempted to purchase Tannhauser for some time now but not alot of interest in my neck of the woods. This may push me over the edge. I'd love to see more of these types of conversion (Warhammer Quest and Space Hulk immediately come to mind! Thanks for the great work!

This is wonderful work you got! I love Tannhäuser boardgame but haven't get chance to play it. Online playing would give me another chance for that and now that it's in FG the engine is more easily editable unlike Vassal system.

I would also like to see some build-in feature to easy the gameplay, such as each Tannhäuser character sheet would have token slots to where you can drag and drop tokens. Also each player could have teamsheet where s/he could select team members by dragging and dropping these premade characters sheets into it. Teamsheet could also be used to keep track of other properties such as Command Points and other team-related tokens. Also maybe automatic die roll resolution against target numbers and have capability to include text description to token (as module) to have their descriptions.

These feature, of course, would require that this boardgame would be implemented as independent ruleset instead of being campaign data. Furthermore if this boardgame would be ruleset it would be easier to start new games and it would be possible to extend the game by making extensions.

I would be very interested in this, so I could give a try making ruleset for it, if you don't mind it?

    Hello Ikael

I thought of the ruleset approach (if only for the graphic look and feel to make it more "tannhauserish"). The vassal guy got a Ceace and desist letter from FFG and I strongly suspect it was due to having automated the game mechanics. The way it is you still need at least to buy the rules and give them some revenue, and you have to buy the expansions as well to get the ruless for all the characters in the expansions (although most rules can be found in blogs if you dig a bit).

I have not included the official maps either for the same reason.

I have dug a bit on rulesets but man its just too difficult, I dont want to start coding.

Next release will ionclude shogunate and some custom factions community created.

I also have created rules for small campaigns (5 to 10 games) for up to 4 players (1 per faction), it will soon be posted in miahs blog, will try to include them also in the next build, this is a plus for buying the FG2 license as with the demo data cannot be saved on the campaign.

If there is any volunteer to engage in the ruleset creation (it should be really simple, graphics, some counters and custom character sheets) please let me know! Im willing to work on it.

    Anybody up for it? :-)

It is already playable, there is only one faction missing, and there are already more than 5 maps to use, try it!

With or without it you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things.
But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion...
